Natural
A shelving unit with a cupboard below.
Each bay has a two-door cupboard at the base and four open shelves above it: a shelving unit with doors where you need them, and open shelves where you don’t. The cupboard keeps cables, chargers, and paperwork out of sight, and the shelves hold the things you want to see.
The cupboard is 360 mm deep, enough for board games: standard square boxes, about 300 mm across, stand upright inside.
Each door opens with a round cut-out instead of a handle, so nothing sticks out. The shelves rest on plywood arms, 220 mm deep and 300 mm apart, and move up or down in 100 mm steps. The unit is 415 mm deep overall.
Choose one, two, or three bays: 632 mm, 1234 mm, or 1836 mm wide, and 1806 mm tall. One bay makes a cupboard with shelves above for an alcove: set it to your alcove’s width in the configurator. See our alcove cupboards, or more ideas for living room shelving.
How the shelves hang.
Shelves and cabinets hang from pins in the rails, so each one can sit at any rail position and move later. There are two kinds of shelf, and you can pick either in the configurator.
On arms
A plywood arm sits against each rail with a pin through it, then the shelf lowers onto the arms.
Between bookends
Each bookend hangs on two pins, and the shelf sits between a pair of them. To switch, choose bookended shelves in the configurator’s Details step.

In the box
2 rails, 1 cupboard and 4 shelves with their arms, plus the pins that hang them. Everything comes flat-packed.
Tools: an alignment spacer with an integrated level, a PZ2 driver bit and the drill bit for your wall type. You supply the drill.
Wall fixings: matched to your wall type, which we check with you before we send them.
Materials and finish
Baltic birch plywood throughout, with its layered edges on show.
Finished in Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C, Natural. The hardwax oil soaks into the birch so the grain shows, and worn spots can be re-oiled.
Pulls: circular hole, backed in Natural.

How it arrives
- Flat-packed
- 2 rails, 1 cupboard and 4 shelves with their arms
The cupboard comes flat-packed and slots together: drop the studs into the plate, then slide the panel along until it locks.
- Step 1Fix the first rail Hold it plumb with a level, then screw through all nine holes with fixings that suit your wall.
- Step 2Space the next rail The 602 mm gauge sets the gap and the level checks they line up. Screw beside the gauge first, then do the same for the last rail.
- Step 3Push in the pins One each side of the bay, in the hole the cabinet hangs from.
- Step 4Hang the cabinets Lift, push back to the wall and lower the hangers onto the pins.
- Step 5Hang the shelves Arms against the rails, a pin through each, then lower the board in. Repeat up the rails.
Every part lifts off again whenever you want to change it. Tools included: an alignment spacer with an integrated level, a PZ2 driver bit, and the drill bit and fixings for your wall type, which we check with you first. You supply the drill.

Everything hangs on the rails, so this layout is a starting point. Move a shelf to any rail position, swap a cupboard for drawers, or add another bay next year.
Extra shelves, cabinets, and bays hang on the same rails, and replacement parts are sold individually.
