How Mestra fixes to the wall
Mestra uses wall-mounted rails. Shelves and cabinets attach to that rail system, which means the wall does important structural work.
Suitable fixings matter, and wall condition matters. For example, solid masonry and suitable stud walls are usually the most straightforward. If you are unsure, ask before ordering.

These are the current facts to check before planning a wall-mounted Mestra layout. The system is made in Norfolk from birch plywood, but the wall still has to do its job.
Widths and rails
Standard production bay widths are 500mm, 600mm, 700mm, and 800mm. For rail height, single-height rails are 900mm, and double-height rails are 1800mm.
Depths
Open shelves can be configured from 210mm to 330mm deep. Drawer cabinets, door cabinets and cupboards are 360mm deep.
Pricing and ownership
The configurator shows a live price for instant-priced layouts. The current shelving lead time is six weeks or less from order confirmation. Ten-year warranty is included.

Yes. Mestra fixes to the wall, so drilling and suitable fixings are required.
Will Mestra work on plasterboard?
It may work, but it depends on the wall construction, fixing method and expected load. Send wall details if you are not sure.
Can wall-mounted shelving hold heavy items?
Only if the wall, fixings, layout and intended load are suitable. Do not assume a heavy-load rating from the shelf style alone.
Can cabinets be wall-mounted too?
Yes. Mestra cabinets attach to the rail system along with shelves, provided the wall and configuration are suitable.
Is wall-mounted shelving better than freestanding shelving?
It depends on the room. Wall-mounted shelving is useful when you want a planned, integrated result. Freestanding shelving is better when you cannot drill or need temporary furniture.
